Do you accept returns?
I hope you absolutely fall in love with your handmade one of a kind ceramic piece, however I understand that sometimes these things don't always work out. Whilst returns are not accepted simply for change of mind, if for some reason the item you bought is not meeting your expectations, or is proven faulty, I am happy to refund or exchange within ten business days. Simply get in touch to organise an exchange or refund. Refunds/exchanges are only honoured if the item is returned in its original undamaged state, and does not include shipping costs.
Can I order online and collect directly from you?
Direct pick-up of online orders from my studio is not available, however if you would like to order online and avoid shipping costs I am happy for you to pick up your order when I am next at Cobbitty Markets, which are held on the first Saturday of each month (excluding January and February, and not during Covid lockdown). Please provide me with your contact details upon checkout so I can call you to confirm pick-up prior to the next Cobbitty Market date. If you place a special order for large quantities, pick-up arrangements will be made with you directly upon the completion of the order.,
Are your wares food safe?
I only use commercially manufactured food safe glazes on my ceramic pieces intended for functional use with food and drink. All of my functional work is stoneware or porcelain, fired to vitrification, and tested for porosity before being sent to market or sold online.
Are your wares microwave and dishwasher safe?
I have test samples of the ceramic items I produce in my own home, being used daily as drinking cups, bowls and other serving ware. Whilst they have been through the dishwasher and microwave multiple times in a domestic setting, I have not tested them over a long enough period of time to see any colour fading or other signs of wear and tear that they might have if being used in a commercial setting or over many many years. I recommend handwashing your handmade items where possible to ensure their long term life and durability.
Can you post internationally?
Unfortunately not at this stage. I am still testing the waters with regards to sending nationally within Australia, and once I have this all figured out (with regards to costing and how many layers of wrapping is required to prevent breakages), I will revisit the possibility of sending internationally.
Do you offer wholesale rates on your existing work?
Short answer - No. Long answer - I believe in paying artists what they are worth. My existing items are works that I have spent a long time designing, developing and refining, so please don't ask me to offer you discounted prices on them. If you would like a specially designed item for you to resell through your own business, I am willing to enter into a commission based agreement, through which you pay me for my time, knowledge, experience and materials to design and develop a product that will suit your needs (kind of like how you might pay a web-developer to design your website for you, or a graphic designer to design your logo), and then offer it exclusively to your business at an agreed rate per item moving forward. In return I will ask you to agree to a contract that is mutually beneficial, in which my work is credited, minimum supply requirements are met, and the value my contribution will make to your business is appreciated. If that sounds like something you are interested in, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
Do you do commissions?
Yes (see above). If you are willing to pay me for my time, knowledge, experience and materials to design and develop an item that meets your requirements, I would love to work with you. Please don't hesitate to get in touch.
